We are a military family, recently having moved from the Midwest with 2 hunting dogs. I was able to get both dogs in for a new visit within about a week. The staff is very nice, helpful, and great with the dogs. The vet didn't give me a hard time for not having my female spayed, in fact she was able to recommend a colleague that specializes in reproductive vet testing/exams. I highly recommend this vet practice!!
I've been bringing our pets here for years. However, on Monday morning, I called to see if I could bring one of our cats in as he was in a lot of pain and unable to move. Unfortunately, they were "at capacity" and said no. I ended up finding a place that would take him, but it was too late, and Luke Kittywalker passed away. Unfortunately, I think this means that we may be seeking a different vet moving forward.
My dog had an open wound from a dog bite. Came to get help and was sent away because they couldn't find time. I'm the only one there so it was obvious they weren't busy with other customers. Was immediately met by two receptionist's sitting who both seemed disinterested. First response was let them check with the doctor. Came out 10 seconds later stating they couldn't squeeze me in. Pretty apparent, this isn't the place to go if needing help. Appears emergency pet care is their least concern, especially if getting close to their one hour and 30 minute lunch break. Yelm Veterinary has become a horrible, careless operation to the point we have now changed to a new vet.
Brought our elderly dog here about a month and a half ago after another dog attacked him and his side was badly swollen, had multiple punctures from teeth, had a gash on his gums. He got a cursory glance over, was told they couldn't find anything even though we have clear pictures of the bite marks. Wouldn't allow us into the clinic with him to show them the marks even though he is very elderly and suffers severe separation anxiety so not even sure they actually looked at him. Told us he had a skin infection but wouldn't tell us what and didn't offer any medications. Gave us the same basic medication for his chronic yeast infection in his ears that we have told them before does nothing for him. And when we take him for basic care appointments they give him the same basic medication that does NOTHING for him. Doesn't help with his ears, the pain medication makes him sick and doesn't help with his pain. They won't do scans or anything else to see if there's anything we can do for him. He is suffering and it really feels like they don't care or want to help us. At this point even just a vet telling us it's time would be better than wasting our money on medications that don't help and stressing him out with multiple car rides to the vet which has gotten VERY expensive for very little help.
Over all a terrible experience with them this last year. It's a shame because this used to be our vet of choice. We will be going to another clinic to help our poor old man and get appropriate medications. Don't take your elderly dogs here if you want to see them live a long happy life.
I called they listened, I asked to have Cooper be placed on the cancellation list, to have a check up to see if he qualified for nail trim under anesthesia because he has extreme anxiety and no social skills. They treated my BFF with patience and kindness. They were able to clip his nails without anesthesia and we have regular nail trims scheduled to help him get socialized so maybe he can see a regular groomer. They sent us home with hope, calming meds, ear medication for his yeast in his ears as a result of his floppy ears. I left with hope, trust and confidence that our fury child has forever vet care.
The staff here are amazing. We have been taking our two dogs here for years and I wish we had found them sooner. We recently had to let our beloved Cash go after 14 years and I just can't say enough about how kind and considerate they were during this incredibly difficult time.
We sadly had to put our 17 year old dog down. They were so good to us. Made time for us. So respectful. So grateful.
Most compassionate vets and techs I've ever been to. All the receptionist are amazing. I lost 3 fur babies all in a span of a few months due to old age and they all where so very nice and compassionate. I'm glad I made the switch
